A message from the Acting President
2021 was a difficult year in the world because of the Covid-19 pandemic. In South Africa, we lost thousands of people who succumbed to covid-19. Almost every family lost their loved one, while the scare lingered as the mortality rate fluctuated. We are not out of the woods yet, as we stand on the prospect of a forth wave, so we should continue to follow the necessary precautions, both at school and at home. For the NATU family, we have had to absorb multiple blows within the Organization from the death of many members and two heavy blows at the Head Office with the sudden and untimely demises of two NATU Stalwarts, Rev. E.M. Biyela and NATU President, Mr S.A. Thompson.
I would be failing in my duty if I don’t thank the NATU family, at large, for its resilience in the face of all the challenges. So, please, allow me to say a big “Thank You” to all of you for remaining calm, collected and focused.
On behalf of the Central Executive Board and NATU support staff, I wish you, your families and your beloved ones a happy, successful and prosperous 2022!
